Perfect Vision in Art
For the 2019-2020 school year, the College Board changed the portfolio requirements for AP Art, no longer requiring students to submit a range of works, but instead allowing students to focus the entire year on building an inquiry-based sustained investigation of 15 pieces. When schools nationwide switched to remote learning in March, this was changed to a 10-piece portfolio and deadlines were extended, giving our students extra time to edit and revise these portfolios in order to give you their absolute best pieces here.
These young artists are true visionaries. As most artists do, they see things a bit differently than their peers; finding inspiration in the mundane or overlooked, turning trash into treasure, or seeing solutions where others see problems. But, what is most impressive about each of these young ladies is that while their perspectives on creating art are wildly different from each other, they are united in this one thing: their portfolios are rooted in and guided by the fact that God Himself has gifted them this artistic talent and perspective. He is the one guiding each of their creative adventures and His voice can be heard through the descriptions in these portfolios, as their art often draws attention to social issues and issues of the heart and soul or simply brings joy or hope to the viewer.
